JKU offers studies and further education in technology, law and economics.

 Softwarepark Hagenberg

The Softwarepark is one of the most successful technology centers in Austria and combines business, research and education. Talking in figures that means that 40 companies, 8 research facilities, over 1.300 students and more than 1.000 employees.

 FH Steyr

The University of Applied Scienes in Steyr offers their students a modern, practical-oriented education in management, which rely on state-of-the-art research and are internationally renowned.

FH Hagenberg

The University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg offers study programmes in media and computer science. RISC Software GmbH offers students internships and diploma theses, which are an excellent basis for a regular employement. Moreover, some of our employees give classes at the University.

Research Facilities

RISC Institute

RISC is an institute of the Johannes Kepler University Linz and does basic research in the area of symbolic computations. RISC played an important role in the foundation and the further development of the Softwarepark.


The first contact point for all questions concerning logistics and industrial networks. In cooperation with research facilities, the Logistikum contributes to topics such as environment, infrastructure, process management, etc.


The institute for system engineering and automatisation is part of the Johannes Kepler University Linz. It focuses on the education in the areas software processes, requirements engineering, production lines and quality assurance.


The institute for system software works on programming languages, compilers, software engineering methods, plug-in components, software tools and web development.


The institute for graphical and parallel data processing does reasearch in the aforementioned areas. Based on that research, the institute runs the Austrian Grid research center as part of the Austrian Grid initiative.

Montanuniversität Leoben

Montan University Leoben offers education in industry logistics, metallurgy, petroleum engineering and applied geo sciences.


Upper Austrian Research GmbH

UAR aims to transfer knowledge and technology from research to business. Promising results in basic reasearch are further developed to technologies, products or services in cooperation with other companies. As a consequence, UAR enforces innovation in Upper Austrian companies and contributes to raise the competitiveness within the region.


FAW is an institute of the Johannes Kepler University Linz, which primarly does basic research. The FAW GmbH offers product- and vendor-independent competences in the areas information management, software- und Web Engineering and database technologies.


Bluesource – mobile solutions gmbh develops and operates solutions for all areas of mobile marketing.


Hagenberg Software GmbH offers experts for technology consulting and framework-oriented software solutions.


SCCH (Software Competence Center Hagenberg) is one of the biggest independet research facilities in Austria and is focused on software engineering, database and knowledge-based technologies.

Mario Holzer

is a self-employed software developer and offers application, database and web development.
